Eldora Let's Race Two Washed Out

Series News Release from USAC Media

This weekend’s edition of #LetsRaceTwo, featuring the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars, scheduled for May 6-7 at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, has been canceled.

The event will not be rescheduled.

A substantial amount of rain has already fallen this week on the Eldora Speedway grounds, and the forecast is calling for more storms and a heavy amount of precipitation to arrive this weekend, thus, forcing cancellation of the event.

“Based on all the information we have gathered today, including current extreme saturation on the track and negative forecasts from our all of weather consultant resources, we made this difficult decision to cancel,” said Jerry Gappens, general manager of Eldora Speedway, which has received approximately two inches of rain since Sunday and is expecting another two inches by the weekend. “Hopefully, this early notice will help fans, teams, officials, and vendors reduce unnecessary travel costs.”

#LetsRaceTwo reserved tickets, general admission tickets, and campsites will be converted to account credits within each respective patron account. This is an automated process that will be completed on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Account credits never expire and can be used on any future ticket or campsite purchase. After the account credit process is complete, an email update will be dispatched to each patron.

In that same email, there will be a refund request form link. Any #LetsRaceTwo credit may be converted to a refund by completing the form. Refund requests must be received no later than 11:59 pm on May 31, 2022. #LetsRaceTwo suite holders will be contacted on an individual basis over the course of the next few days.

USAC racing returns to Eldora Speedway for the 40th running of the 4-Crown Nationals on September 23-24, a jam-packed weekend featuring USAC’s Silver Crown, AMSOIL National Sprint Car and NOS Energy Drink National Midget series along with the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions.

At this Fall’s 4-Crown, each of three USAC features on Saturday night will pay $10,000-to-win! Friday night’s midget A-Main will pay $5,000-to-win.

USAC’s AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship season gets back on track next weekend on May 12-13-14 in Kansas and Missouri. First up, on Thursday, May 12, is a visit to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. Friday, May 13, marks the series’ first trip to Osborn, Missouri’s U.S. 36 Raceway in a decade. The weekend closes out on Saturday night, May 14, at Odessa, Missouri’s I-70 Motorsports Park for the first time in a quarter-century.
